Things to Consider

In no particular order here’s a list of things, for healers and patients, to consider.

For Clients:

Prayer is a powerful medium and a personal choice, but is not necessary to receive healing. Asking for something is not the same as allowing change.

Protection and cleansing rituals are symbolic and often fear based and misunderstood. There's no need to protect one's self with white light, incantations, holy water, or religious text. Be compassionate and willing.

There's no need to remove jewellery, clothing, or contact lenses. The energy ebbs and flows, and encompasses all objects in the room.

I like tattoos and appreciate deodorant.

It's okay to be a sceptic, and it's common to be nervous. I'll not tell you that you have to believe in me, or the process, to be healed. I respect your beliefs and understand your desire for proof.

Crystals, candles, and incense create an ambient atmosphere but have no influence on the healing. I like all of these things and you will find them in my healing room.

You don't have to be quiet or go into a trance. Relax, be yourself. Most of my clients feel like they go to sleep, but they're still aware of the room.

Music is nice to listen to, but not necessary.

You can ask me to stop if you need to go the toilet. A full bladder is a common response.

I like kids, but they will distract you, and this will affect the healing. If you need to, you can bring your children, mum, spouse, best friend, or dog, but if you want some privacy, everyone will have to wait outside.

Turn your mobile phone off. The ring tone won’t affect the healing, but it will give me a fright.

Your lungs won’t improve if you keep smoking.

Try not to have any expectation of an outcome. Relax, and come with the attitude of, “I’m here, let’s give it a go.”

Something to think about—it seems that those who believe in miracles are not always the ones who have immediate results. The patients who are nervous and have no idea what to expect appear to have the best results.

For healers:

Have faith. When I mention this most people assume I’m talking about having faith in God, or in spirit. Have faith in yourself first. No matter what the outcome believe you can heal. Do not judge your potential to heal by success or failure.

Don’t make excuses. I hear too many people saying things like: the person’s not ready to be healed, they’ve chosen this illness for their higher good, they’ve chosen to live a short life, and … (fill the gap). Don’t buy into this at all.

Have no expectation. The only thing that we need to focus on is healing. I do this by repeating the phrase perfect health, but I don’t think about how that will manifest in the client. I’m only healing.

Every time you heal it’s the first time. There are similarities between healings, but try to avoid comparing one healing with another. This will prevent you from establishing a routine.

Know that we’re not in control. The only thing we control is our willingness to walk up to the table over and over again. Don’t be afraid. Dig this out of your subconscious mind. Trust me, in there, it’s screaming, “I’m hanging on tight!”

Believe every disease has a cure. The cure manifests in the client, and at times we have to know this without evidence.

There’s no need to set the energy on the table or in the room. Like paramedics we can work anywhere; the healing vibration is present.

Wash your hands to be respectful and clean, and not to remove energy.

There's no limit to how many healings we can do per day. When you're tired, rest, play, and eat well.

Drinking alcohol and eating red meat doesn't limit our ability to heal.

Be grateful for everything.

Try not to ritualise anything. We can heal without our favourite shirt, crucifix, four leaf clover, or rabbits foot. I don't have a crucifix, but I do have all the rest. Sorry Easter bunny.

Here’s a list of things I feel hinder, and sometimes prevent healing:

I’ve compiled this list from observation and experience.

The patient is only interested in claiming the payment back on his/her insurance. Be grateful; forget the cost.

The patient is receiving insurance and or compensation. There’s a link between holding onto illness and financial security.

The patient tells you they want to get well so they can return to work, but what they really mean is, they hate work and like daytime TV.

Being dishonest about why you want to be well. Is this what you really want?

Being afraid to change.

The patient likes attention from spouse and family. I remain ill because my husband cooks now. I like being sick because she lets me have the remote now.

Testing or deceiving the healer. If you tell me you have lung cancer and you don’t, I will tell you I’ve looked at your lungs. I trust you to be honest with me, and there’s a tangible frequency about deception that interferes with the healing.

Not letting go of any spiritual, religious, new age beliefs you have. This is a strange one. If you think you know what I’m/spirit is doing it will affect the outcome.

Booking a healing with someone else, just in case.

Giving yourself reiki while I'm working. Yes, it’s happened.

Surprising someone with a booking. You can't force anyone to see me; they have to come willingly, even if they gripe all the way through the session.

Apathy. Please, you've been given another chance; exercise, eat well, and be happy.

You have a chance to be healthy. Change your diet and stop smoking. You can smoke and eat chips every night for dinner, and I/spirit will still heal you, but respect the gift of perfect health.
